Verdicchio Castelli di Jesi ‘Pojo’ Finocchi 2016, Marche
Staffolo is considered one of the richest parts of the Castelli di Jesi-area. This small production takes place in a place called Contrada Salmagina, and relies only on selected produce. At the moment, the producers employ some nine hectares of wine yard, where the plants can reach up to fifty years of productive life. These are white wines that are both structured and consistent, with 19 months in steel, of which six with levitation, with very limited invasive intervention in the wine-producing phase.
Dark yellow, with an immediate floreal aroma of yellow and white flowers, including acacia and almond. These sensations are complemented by a pleasant sapidity, slightly spicy, ensuring an even more complex and balanced wine. It is soft but not sweet, with an acid component that fills the mouth. Spicy and flowery scents remain in the palate for a long time.
